Well this has never happened before, I can't believe it!!
Yup, it's a first.
We have to start this year by apologizing to one of our dedicated carvers. Actually the very first entry that was received in this year’s contest was missed when the pictures got posted. This is a terrible mistake that was entirely Sarah's fault (boooooo Sarah). However, as I think we have concluded in other years, good thing we can’t be fired!
Sorry Lisa and John, please accept our "Honorary Mention Prize" this year. Promise it won’t happen again. Please keep carving!!
Here is their lovely entry for all to enjoy titled “Once upon a time, before the kiddos came along...”

This year the
judges have spoken loud and clear. There was definitely consensus on which
was this year’s masterpiece. As one judge so eloquently put, [it] “is just too
perfect to be on anything else than in the center on the winner's podium”
Congratulations
to Sarah Willie for pumpkin #2 with a landslide victory with 54 points!
Special mention also goes to:
2nd
place: Pumpkin 8, Leanne with 29 points
3rd
place: Pumpkin 5, Liz with 22 points
Thanks
all for another great year of carving and Sarah if we keep this up I think we
might start getting complaints that the competition is rigged but really, it
was about time one of us got our name back on the trophy!! Good job.
And to end off with some comments from our
judges to the kids:
Tyler - creative entry and nice use of
sarcasm.
Tessa - who doesn't want some sunshine
somewhere?
Josephine and Robbie - everyone loves a
one-eyed monster!
And to the BIG kids:
Very cool artistic effects this year!!!
Pumpkin 2.
Great design and obvious link to the theme.
Sweet ass
pumpkin carving!
Pumpkin 3.
Thumbs up!
Pumpkin 4. Not a masterpiece but the name
is clever.
Creative use of pumpkin bits.
Pumpkin 5. Cool clock.
Pumpkin 7. But wolves have to eat too.
Pumpkin 8. Those are some mad carving
skillz.
Great carving and good play on the theme.
