10th Anniversary Edition of the WPCC!!!

Hello, hello, hello!
Well I can't believe that it has been 10 years since this friendly competition began?! If it weren't for this blog, I don't think I would even have remembered that, some computer in Google knows it as I'm sure that it reads my Gmail, but hardly anyone else would have remembered I'm sure of it!!

So on this auspicious occasion of our 10 year anniversary I am happy to announce that the trophy has been given some love and affection by one Mark Taylor! Not the M. Taylor that has her name all over the trophy, but the other M. Taylor that lives there... Down in his workshop Mark completed a new 4 layered beauty, and even hollowed out the middle for cheaper shipping for all!! And nothing says Canada like a solid maple trophy sourced from your own cottage island eh?! Thanks again Mark:)

Now down to business, the theme for this year is...

"Nightmares"

RULES.

Your design must be ORIGINAL. It is ok to get ideas from other people but you can't just copy someone else's directly and you definitely CANNOT USE A STENCIL...something about it has to be your own.

You are only allowed to use 1 pumpkin (any shape you can find) but it cannot be one of those fancy grown in a mold kind that basically carve themselves!!

Toothpicks are ok to use as a stabilizer and within your pumpkin, but no other foreign objects.

You can use any carving tools you want.

You may only send 1 picture of your pumpkin, (keep that in mind when carving) to Leanne or Sarah and we will send it out to the judging panel.

NEW THIS YEAR - You may submit a title with your pumpkin picture this year***
The limit is 140 characters (Twitter style) and don't put anything in there that will tip off the judges as to your identity.

To avoid anyone voting for their own pumpkin, or voting for a friend's pumpkin, we will have an entirely autonomous judging panel voting for their 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices.

Photo's must be received by Firday October 31st at midnight in whichever time zone you happen to be living in. Pictures will then be mailed to the judges, votes will be collected and the winners announced ASAP.

No late entries will be accepted, we're engineers people, not artists.

You can check out previous entries here and keep updated when the judging starts.

Good luck from our end and may the best pumpkin win!
