And now what you have all been patiently waiting for, the results of this years competition. In 3rd Place we have our reigning two time champion Mel T. - I'll get you my pretty..and your little pumpkin too!!  " Nice carving skills!" said one judge, and I would agree, but a three-peat wasn't in the pumpkin patch for Mel!! 2nd Place is a veteran of the competition, formerly a judge maybe it's her inside knowledge that has gotten her this far? Rated highly by almost all the judges, it is "fancy-pants carver" Laurie A. with - Pumpkins have nightmares too ! And our winner this year put in an absolute stunner of an entry... Nightmares!! The day you have all been waiting for has finally come! One of our carves was so kind to point out that with our time from picture receipt to posting we are getting closer to falling into the artist category than the engineer category given our rules that state "No late entries will be accepted, we're engineers people, not artists." I guess that is just one of the many benefits of running the show. We don't get disqualified for posting a couple days late. Perhaps next year we will have to add rules about heckling... Hello, hello, hello! Well I can't believe that it has been 10 years since this friendly competition began?! If it weren't for this blog, I don't think I would even have remembered that, some computer in Google knows it as I'm sure that it reads my Gmail, but hardly anyone else would have remembered I'm sure of it!! So on this auspicious occasion of our 10 year anniversary I am happy to announce that the trophy has been given some love and affection by one Mark Taylor! Not the M. Taylor that has her name all over the trophy, but the other M. Taylor that lives there... Down in his workshop Mark completed a new 4 layered beauty, and even hollowed out the middle for cheaper shipping for all!!
